We've been working to secure this block of Wausau from zombies for 5 days. It finally feels like we may get it done. #zombie #apocalypse

07:55 AM #
All the zombies are cleared out. All the fences in the yards have been connected. All the windows and doors of the houses are sealed shut...

07:58 AM #
The final task is to barricade both ends of the street between this block and the one we cleared long ago for Ruth. #zombie #zompocalypse

08:02 AM #
A cluster of wrecked cars on one end will make up the bulk of the barricade there. Wausau is full of abandoned vehicles for the other side.

08:04 AM #
The challenge, of course, is moving all these vehicles around without attracting the attention of too many zombies. Patience is the key.

I just made a lot of noise winching a Hostess panel truck into place. So far, it doesn't look like any zombies were close enough to hear.

01:33 PM #
This part of Wausau never had swarms of zombies in it. The zombie plague hit during the work day. Most died far from home, or evacuated.

01:36 PM #
Ruth stayed behind, refusing to leave the home she and her husband had shared. He died long before this whole zombie thing. #zompocalypse

01:39 PM #
She learned to keep a low profile during the early days of the zombie outbreak. She's tough, smart, and fiercely independent. I like her.

02:02 PM #
Just one zombie showed up to investigate the noise. I put an arrow in its head at 40 yards. Ruth was ready with her .22 in case I missed.

02:04 PM #
I rarely miss a target that size at that range. Ruth never does. #zombie #zombies #Wausau #apocalypse #zompocalypse
